John Butler is known for speaking his mind, his passionate live performances and songs about the environment and social justice.
Butler performed in front of a packed amphitheatre at this years Woodford Folk Festival, where he spoke about mining the Kimberly in Western Australia– an issue he has been actively campaigning against for some years.
He also performed as part of a political song writers circle at the festival which included Goanna’s Shane Howard, while the Prime Minister waited back-stage at her impromptu visit to Woodfordia.
The powerful blues and roots singer chatted candidly and passionately with the AMN at Woodford about the message in his music, what drives him and how he wanted to join the army.
