G’day. My name’s Michelle. I’m passionate about Melbourne’s unique live music scene.

The Dotted Line gives a voice to emerging and established musos who don’t get played on other stations.

Each week you can hear a featured artist playing live-to-air in the studio. You can also listen to off-beat and quirky interviews with touring bands.

INDEPENDENT MEDIA? IT’S AS SIMPLE AS MDR!

3MDR 97.1fm is a community radio station based in Emerald, in Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges. It broadcasts across Melbourne and streams live across the web.

MDR plays an important role in the community where it provides an independent voice for a range of listeners. MDR is also an emergency broadcaster and provides vital bushfire information and potentially life saving up-dates on Code Red fire danger days.

Our broadcasters are passionate about independent media and are actively involved in community, through music, the arts and local events.

All genres of music are covered, and there is a broad range of ethnic programming as well as live seasonal local football broadcasting each Saturday.

Michelle Burns the Midnight Oil

MICHELLE Slater surrounds herself with music everyday, but her favourite band will always be Midnight Oil.

The music lover makes sure she attends at least one live gig every week and hosts a radio show, The Dotted Line, on 3MDR each Wednesday night, showcasing local independent Australian artists.
